Numerical Methods

Dynamic modelling of thermodynamic cycles can be a challenging task, among others because of the numerous numerical issues arising both during initialization and during integration.

The ThermoCycle Library aims at addressing three typical challenges inherent to the modelling of thermo-flow systems:

  1. Computing the thermophysical substance properties of working fluids
  2. Computational efficiency
  3. Robustness during initialization and integration

In order to enhance the performance and the robustness of the ThermoCycle library, different numerical methods have been implemented and tested. They are presented and discussed in this section.
